REV + FULCRA

Featuring Guin Shaw, Ph.D., Rutherford Energy Ventures

Video
Commercial fusion depends on more than scientific discovery. It also requires technology transfer, shared infrastructure and incentives that align national laboratories with clearly defined private-sector needs.

In this video, Dr. Guinevere Shaw explains how REV and FULCRA identify mutually beneficial opportunities for national laboratories and commercial partners. By connecting laboratory capabilities with real industry problems, the model can help fusion companies access technology and infrastructure that reduce development risk. At the same time, it supports continued foundational science, preserves U.S. intellectual property and helps national laboratories retain specialized talent.

The goal is a stronger path from public-sector research to commercially relevant fusion technology.
