Maria Hancock is the Chief Operating Officer of Rutherford Energy Ventures L.P. (REV), where she focuses on scaling investment operations at the intersection of energy, technology, and risk. She brings over 20 years of experience across asset management, enterprise risk, and financial technology.
Maria is an active angel investor, advisor, and mentor, with a focus on FinTech, InsureTech, and climate innovation. Prior to REV, she served as the Head of Retirement Solutions Americas at Deutsche Bank and as the Chief Technology Officer for Enterprise Risk Management at AIG.
Earlier in her career, she held roles spanning risk and technology at JPMorgan and Dresdner Bank and was an early employee at FinTech startup Askari Risk Management Solutions, which was subsequently acquired by State Street.
She holds a Ph.D. in theoretical nuclear physics from Goethe University Frankfurt.
