Rachel Bielajew, Ph.D.

Head of Research

Dr. Rachel Bielajew is the Head of Research of Rutherford Energy Ventures (REV).

She is a research professional that focuses on fusion energy and deep tech, with a background spanning plasma physics, nuclear engineering, and applied research. She is particularly interested in the technoeconomic challenges of fusion, working to translate scientific breakthroughs into scalable, commercially viable energy solutions.

Dr. Bielajew earned her Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from MIT and completed an ORISE postdoctoral fellowship at the MIT Plasma Science and Fusion Center.

Her research bridged experiment and modeling, comparing tokamak measurements with simulations to advance understanding of fusion plasma behavior.

She brings a technical, systems-level perspective to evaluating emerging energy technologies, with a focus on commercialization pathways, cost reduction, and long-term impact.
